Hazel Kay Anderson has been in the beauty business since 1979. Born and raised in London, England, she first started working as a makeup artist in major department stores, Harrods, Selfridges and Harvey Nichols in London with leading brands. It was on a visit to the U.S.A. in late 1983 when she decided to be a nail technician and on her return to London, she enrolled in a beauty school in London that taught nail care and achieved her diploma in this field. In 1991 she completed successfully her I.T.E.C. [International Therapy Examination Council] Diploma in London as a European trained Aestheticienne [Skincare/Beauty Specialist].
In 1999, she established Nail Graphics, Nail and Skin Care Salon in Camden, London, England, specializing in all aspects of nail care and skin care and taught clients how to look and feel good about themselves.
In 2001, Hazel kay decided to move to Jamaica and established Shalshani Nail, Skin and More in the town of Mandeville, where she specialized in skin care, nail treatment and make-up application and also hosted Look Good, Feel Better Workshops. The name Shalshani was taken from the names of her two children, Shallum. who was a king in the bible, and Shani whose name is Swahili {East African} and means marvelous and so hence "Shalshani" was created.
In 2002 she took up a job offer to work in Bermuda at the famous Triminghams in Hamilton as a Beauty and Skin Care consultant to Dr Perricone products, top of the line make-up brands, Chanel, Clarins, Clinique, Iman, Fashion Fair, Estee Lauder.
She went back to Jamaica and established another business called Shalshani Skin Care Spa in Mandeville, where she specialized in skin care treatment such as, waxing, massage, nail care, grooming workshops, nail and make-up classes and skin care workshops. In 2007, Shalshani skin care spa is now known as Shalshani beauty education consultants.
Hazel Kay is a member of the board with the beauty therapy lead group of the N.C.T.V.E.T [National Council of Technical, Vocational, Education and Training] Programme in Jamaica and along with other beauty professionals she contributes to setting the standards for Jamaica NVQ exams for beauty therapy and has lectured on skin care and grooming in several schools and has made presentations on grooming and skin care at Northern Caribbean University [N.C.U] in Jamaica. She feels that it is very important to do presentations on skin and grooming and give individual advice. She has done Skin Care presentations with J.C.D.C [Jamaica Cultural Development Comittee] for the festival queen competition.

Hazel kay says "People always ask me how I keep my skin looking so good and I would always explain to them how to take proper care of their skin.
She saw the need for beauty education consulting because of of the untold questioning regarding every aspect of beauty care in all areas of the beauty industry for students [male and female}, new graduates, experienced beauty/nail technicians, business professionals and people in the fashion and modeling business.
Part of her mission is to reach as many persons in need of beauty care and advice. Myself /or a team of professionals will travel to your hotel, business, home or school and give intensive training in whatever area you need perfecting on, whether its a one on one or a group workshop.. Follow-ups are also conducted by e-mails of personal visits to monitor her participant’s progress
